Fred Pytlak

Founder

Fred started in Information Technology with a mission to develop an evolutionary suite of specialty software designed to support the Patient Practitioner encounter while providing a comprehensive high quality Medical Practice Management software solution. He created Office Practicum and maintains his deep involvement in every aspect of Office Practicum’s design and development, with a special focus on the consistent delivery of a superior software product.

Mr. Pytlak earned his degree in Speech Communication and Education from the State University of New York at Geneseo. He has worked as a cinematographer on numerous commercials, music videos, corporate promotional films and documentaries, and was a member of IATSE Local 644. He is particularly knowledgeable about the workflow mandates of the medical field because of his active participation in the development of his wife’s successful pediatric practice. He developed the first program written to help manage and control her office. Several of her colleagues showed an interest in his effort and quickly saw its practical value and asked Fred to allow them to purchase his product to help them better control over their offices.

Fred lives in Brooklyn with his wife, Edna.

Michael J. Matlack

President
COO (Chief Operating Officer)

Mike is responsible for systems and processes related to testing, delivery, implementation, training and customer support.

Prior to his involvement with Connexin, he was President of Anderson Financial Systems. At AFS, Mike was responsible for application design and customer relationship management, with a special emphasis on creating strong internal systems for release management. His experience spans over 25 years of software development and systems engineering, including positions at General Electric’s Corporate Research and Development Center and NeXT Computer, Inc.

Mike earned his Masters in Computer Systems Engineering at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and his Bachelors degree in Computer Engineering at Lehigh University. He lives with his wife Carol in Cherry Hill, NJ, and their four children.

Gregory H. Anderson

CIO (Chief Information Officer)

Greg is responsible for the programming team, software platform strategies, and all product development of the software elements of Office Practicum. He was a member of the 2009-10 CCHIT Advanced Clinical Decision Support workgroup, as well as the CDC HL7 Data Definitions and Messaging workgroups for Immunization Information Systems.

Prior to his involvement in Connexin, Greg founded Anderson Financial Systems in 1982, after studying international economics at the Georgetown University School of Foreign Service. He was the primary architect of the afs:TRADE system and has almost 25 years of experience managing the development of sophisticated Wall Street trading applications.

Greg is married to Susan J. Kressly, MD, FAAP, a pediatrician in private practice in Warrington, PA. Her office serves as an alpha-test site to validate every upgrade and revision to Office Practicum before release to our general client base.

Susan J. Kressly, MD, FAAP

Medical Director

Dr. Kressly has been in pediatric private practice since 1989 in Bucks County, PA. In addition to using Office Practicum since 2004, she is very active in practice management and HIT initiatives. Sue is a member of the Council on Clinical Information Technology and the Section on Administration and Practice Management of the AAP, as well as the Quality Improvement Innovation Network. She serves on the executive board of the Pennsylvania Chapter of the American Academy of Pediatrics and serves as chair of the Pediatric Council/Practice Management Committee. She is on the board of the PA-eHealth Initiative, served as advisor to the PA Regional Extension Center vendor selection committee, and was a member or the Child Health Workgroup for CCHIT.

Sue is committed to advancing pediatric functionality in HIT and giving practicing pediatricians a voice in software advancement. She believes one of her critical roles in Connexin Software is to be the pediatrician's advocate. She continues to run her own NCQA-Level 3 Medical Home practice where Office Practicum software advancements are alpha-tested.

Sue lives in Doylestown with her husband, Greg, CIO of Connexin Software. In their spare time when they are not passionately discussing Office Practicum, they enjoy time at the beach and playing a competitive game of Scrabble.

John F. McDermott

CFO (Chief Financial Officer)

John joined the Office Practicum team as a senior business advisor in 1997. He has a broad range of solid talents and accomplishments as an educator and senior business information technology manager in international banking, brokerage, education and law.

John has held the position of CIO and Senior Vice President for International Banking Products and Operations at Swiss Bank Corporation, Marine Midland Banks, NA and The Hong Kong and Shanghai Banking Corporation Limited. He had also served as CIO and First Vice President for International Systems Development at Societe Generale, as well as CIO and Director for Dewey Ballantine, LLP.

He has served as a member of the Board of Directors for the New York Clearing House, American Chess Foundation, and the Society for Information Management, New York (SIM), and is currently a Member of the Board of Directors of U.S. Energy Group, Inc., and the not-for-profit arts group Clayworks on Columbia, Inc.

John lives in Brooklyn with his wife Deborah and their two children, Devin and Brendin.

Edna Anne Pytlak, MD, FAAP

Member of the Board

Dr. Pytlak has been a practicing pediatrician for 25 years. She graduated from Albany Medical College in 1983 and completed her residency at Downstate Medical Center in Brooklyn, NY. She and her partners, Dr. O’Connor and Dr. Dalton, have a pediatric practice in the Brooklyn Heights section of New York with over 4000 active patients. The office is a preceptor site for medical students from Weill Cornell Medical College where she is an assistant professor of outpatient pediatrics. She is also preceptor for nurse practitioner students from Pace University.

Dr. Pytlak has had an ongoing role in assuring Office Practicum's development always meets the core medical management functions currently needed by active practitioners in the field. Dr. Pytlak’s office is the alpha-test site that validates every upgrade and revision to Office Practicum before its release to our general client base.

Edna lives in Brooklyn with her husband, Fred.

Kevin P. Fahey

Bluff Point Managing Director

Mr. Fahey is a Managing Director at Bluff Point Associates. Prior to joining Bluff Point, Mr. Fahey was Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Healthland,a Health Care Information Technology company owned by a Private Equity firm. His responsibilities included strategic planning, mergers and acquisitions, debt financing, and all financial oversight.

Mr. Fahey has spent the last 20 years in domestic and international high technology venture and private equity backed companies. Responsibilities have included strategic planning, Initial Public Offerings (IPO), equity and debt financing, mergers and acquisitions, SEC reporting, full profit and loss management, and operations.

Mr. Fahey received a Bachelors of Business Administration (BBA) in Accounting from Saint Bonaventure University. He is also a certified public accountant.
