Tips for attracting top new physicians to your pediatric practice
How can you set your practice apart when competing with health systems? In Hiring Physicians for Your Independent Pediatric Practice: How to Promote Your Practice vs a Health System, Dr. Sue Kressly recommends the following:
- Get rid of a classic 9-to-5 schedule, and let physicians work early morning and/or evening office hours. This schedule will give them access to patients who can’t come during normal operating hours. It also allows your physicians to spend more time with their families.
- Instead of asking physicians to work four in-office days and an on-call assignment, ask them to work five six-hour sessions. Then, outsource the on-call assignment to your nursing staff or a third-party pediatrician.
- Reconsider whether or not hospital care is viable for your practice.
