21st Century Cures Act: Sample Pediatric Policies & Exceptions

April 5th is right around the corner. At this time, it is critical to understand what your gaps are for compliance and then have a plan on what you will be doing over the coming months to close those gaps.

Even without penalties currently in place for non-compliance of the 21st Century Cures Act, patients may be able to log complaints and penalties/deterrents may be assessed when they are finalized.

It is your responsibility to have a documented policy and procedure for how you will receive requests for information from patients. Specifically, you want to document how fast and in what form patient requests will be delivered.

Join us Tuesday, March 9th at 12 PM ET for a live webinar presented by Dr. Sue Kressly, MD, FAAP.

During this webinar she will:

  • Review a sample Practice Policy on Information Blocking
  • Discuss the acceptable Exceptions as outlined by the ONC for withholding information
  • Explore common pediatric scenarios where it may be appropriate to withhold sensitive information

Attendees of the live webinar will receive 1 continuing education unit (CEU) from the AAPC.

This is a part of the always-free Pediatric Success Series. Register for this webinar, and you will automatically be subscribed to our newsletter which is packed with resources for independent pediatric practices. This quarter’s focus: How to Prepare Now for the 2021 E/M CPT Coding Changes.
