API Fees Transparency for OP Certified API

OP Certified APIs: OP Certified API is ONC certified and made available to contracted customers of OP EHR (and their authorized API users) with read only functionality per 21st Century Cures Act. The standard monthly subscription fee for the OP EHR covers this use – OP does not charge* for use of OP NOW Certified APIs for with OP-approved vendors/applications upon your acceptance and compliance with the terms and conditions of the API License Agreement. *Third party vendors may charge for use of their application.

OP also offers OP Administrative APIs and OP Advanced Clinical APIs. These APIs have bidirectional capabilities and have costs associated with setup and monthly maintenance and support.  They may be requested by OP Customers and vendors interested in integration with Office Practicum. The scope of use, corresponding fees and services will be set forth in a separate written agreement and statement of work upon request.

Costs and Limitations

Office Practicum charges each provider a monthly fee to implement and use the certified software. One-time set up fees are charged for some certified capabilities. Our Current* Packages include:

Elite Package

  • Subscription Fee includes all certified capabilities except:
    • Additional Clinical Interfaces: labs, Imm Reg, PDMP, HIE)

Professional Package

  • Subscription fee includes all certified capabilities except:
    • Additional Clinical Interfaces: labs, Imm Reg, PDMP, HIE)

Essential Package

  • This package does not include all certified features. Customer must purchase Professional or Elite Package.

*Customers who purchased prior to 2019 may also be charged for adding on Direct Messaging, ePrescribing, EPCS, Interfaces

Monthly Recurring

  • Monthly Subscription Fee: This per provider charge includes all certified capabilities except as shown in the table above.
  • Direct Messaging: Per provider charge in addition to subscription fee for certain packages for access to software, which covers a certain number of transactions per month. Per transaction charges apply for overages of provisioned number of transactions.
  • Patient Portal: Per provider charge in addition to subscription fee for certain packages for access to software.
  • EPCS: Per provider charge in addition to subscription fee for certain packages for access to software.
  • ePrescribing: Per provider charge for Add On purchases only, for some existing customers who originally purchased a la carte features. 
  • Interfaces: Per provider charge in addition to subscription fee for certain packages or additional interfaces for access to the interface connectivity.
  • Monthly recurring fees also cover basic implementation of OP, online training, technical support and updates and maintenance. 

One-Time 

  • Direct Messaging: One-time fee per practice for set-up of organizational domain and ID proofing providers.
  • EPCS: One-time fee per provider for ID proofing.
  • Interfaces: One-time fee per practice for initial connection of Clinical Interface. 
  • Implementation/Set Up:  Separate implementation fees are charged for Direct Messaging, EPCS, and Clinical Interfaces.

Third Party Software 
Certification of modules related to CQMs or Patient Engagement (e.g., Secure Messaging) are available through our partners. Customer must attest with a Certification ID that is unique to a combination of Office Practicum along with those other partners.

Contractual Limitations
Customers must sign a Subscription and Service Agreement for a minimum 2-year renewable term. The terms of the contract do not impose any limitations that could limit the implementation or use of certified capabilities, or the data generated by these capabilities. There are no business policies or practices that may cause limitations in the implementation or use of certified capabilities, including interoperability functionality.

Technical Limitations
There are no product limitations that could prevent or impair the implementation, configuration, maintenance, support or use of a certified capability.
There are no limitations that a user may encounter regarding the exchange or portability of any data generated when using the capability.
There are no limitations with non-certified capabilities that may interfere with the use or implementation of any certified capabilities.

21st Century Cures Act

Conditions of Certification – Communications

OP is committed to compliance with the 21st Century Cures Act. As such, as of April 5, 2021, in the event any contract term, policy or practice of OP limits or restricts the permitted communications under the Communications Condition of Certification (45 CFR 170.403), OP will not enforce it. Under this condition, OP will not restrict or prohibit the following communications related to exchanging electronic health information (“EHI”), except as permitted by the Cures Act:

  • The usability of our certified technology, including the user interface and ease of use
  • The interoperability of our certified technology
  • The security of our products and services
  • Relevant information regarding users’ experiences when using our products
  • Our business practices that impact the exchange of electronic health information and conformance with rules against Information Blocking
  • The manner which you have used our certified technology

Upon renewal of your OP agreement, any contract term contrary to these rules will be removed or voided in accordance with the new rules.

Electronic Health Information Export 

Single Patient Export
Office Practicum allows a user to export electronic health information (EHI) for a single patient at any time via a Database Viewer stored SQL query built into OP named “Single patient EHI export” without developer assistance. The exported files are in .csv file format explained below

CSV
A comma-separated values (CSV) file is a delimited text file that uses a comma to separate values. Each line of the file is a data record. Each record consists of one or more fields, separated by commas. The use of the comma as a field separator is the source of the name for this file format.
